This semester, we have witnessed ecological disasters throughout the Americas. If you want to help the people of Mexico and Puerto Rico recover from the recent earthquake and hurricanes, the Office of Multicultural Services has prepared a list of recommended agencies to support. Elzbieta Sklodowska, who has just published Invento luego resisto: El Periodo Especial en Cuba como experiencia y metáfora (1990-2015), will give a lecture focusing on the material culture of the “Periodo Especial” on Wednesday November 8 at 4:30 pm, Gibson 211.
The title is “Post-Soviet (Re)collections: From Artifact to Artifice in the Wake of the ‘Special Period’ in Cuba”.
The fall Spanish Major Declaration Workshop will be Monday, September 11 at 6:00PM in New CAB 485
In order to declare a major in Spanish, students must complete SPAN 3010 (Grammar & Composition I), or the equivalent, with a grade of C or better.
The workshop will be presided over by Spanish Faculty Advisors who will review the highlights of declaring a Spanish major, answer questions from students, assign advisors, and sign major declaration forms during the workshop.
