Position Available: Blair Academy announces an opening for a Spanish teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. We are searching for an enthusiastic, student-centered, and collegial teacher who will share in the responsibility of ensuring that our teaching of Spanish at Blair happens in the target language, stems from engagement in culture, and centers on student agency and peer collaboration.
The strongest applicants will have the following qualifications:
● Passion for teaching students at all levels, from introductory classes through advanced study;
● BA in Spanish; and
● Strong commitment to collaborating with colleagues to create curricular materials and to design assessments that provide evaluative, growth-oriented feedback.
Typical job responsibilities include:
● Teaching four sections each semester (details to be determined);
● Coaching or assisting with a sport for two seasons or with activities for three seasons;
● Advising a group of six students; and
● Providing weekly supervision for boarding students.
