The Modern & Contemporary Culture Workshop with Kelly Moore

Join Kelly Moore, Assistant Professor of Modern and Contemporary Spanish Literature and Culture at UVA, for her workshop presentation, “Secularism’s Family History: Luis Buñuel’s Viridiana (1961),” on Wednesday, October 22 at 11:00 AM in Wilson Hall 117.

This event is part of the Modern & Contemporary Culture Workshop, an open, interdisciplinary forum where faculty and PhD students engage with research on modern and contemporary culture. Participants share works in progress that include essays, chapters, or proposals—a week in advance, then gather for an hour of collaborative discussion aimed at strengthening the work for publication or submission.

Convened by Christa Noel Robbins (Art History) and Paul Dobryden  (German), the workshop fosters lively, constructive dialogue across disciplines.

Sponsored by the Institute of the Humanities & Global Cultures and the  Department of Art, the series welcomes new participants and presenters. For more information or to register, contact Christa Noel Robbins.
