This workshop invites grad students to reflect on archival research across disciplines. Drawing from her current work on penal archives in the nineteenth-century Philippines, Professor Aurélie Vialette (Yale University) will discuss how archives both reveal and conceal histories of incarceration and their underlying tensions. Participants will engage in an open discussion on research practices and the politics of archival work.
Sponsored by the Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese and organized under Archival Crossings.
