Please join us on January 25th for a lecture by Dr. Lawrence La Fountain-Stokes (University of Michigan) titled “PROMESA, Anti-Colonial Drag, and Diasporic Puerto Rican Trans Revolution” organized by Cole Rizki (Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese) and Penny Von Eschen (chair, Department of American Studies).

This talk forms part of the “Page-Barbour Trans Care Lecture Series” organized by the Department of American Studies, the Department of English, and the Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality.

Dr. La Fountain-Stokes will also discuss his most recent monograph Translocas: The Politics of Puerto Rican Drag and Trans Performance (2021) with interested graduate students over lunch on January 26th. RSVP required for lunch event.
