Poetry reading with Fernando Valverde Rodríguez: la feria del libro del estado de Virginia

Please join us on Friday, March 23, at 4 pm in the UVa Bookstore for a bilingual poetry reading by Fernando Valverde Rodríguez, during the Virginia Festival of the Book.
 
Mr. Valverde, is one of the most prominent voices in contemporary Spanish poetry. His verse has been published in various Spanish-speaking countries, has been translated into other languages, and has garnered numerous awards. These include some of the most significant awards for poetry in Spanish, the Federico García Lorca Prize, the Emilio Alarcos del Principado de Asturias Prize, and the Antonio Machado Prize. He has also been nominated for a Latin Grammy, for his collaboration on a work of poetry/flamenco fusion. His latest book, The Insistence of Harm, has been the best-selling book of poetry in Spain for several months, and it has received the Book of the Year award from the Latino American Writers Institute of the City University of New York.
