This new compilation features 400 thoroughly researched Afro-Brazilian biographies as well as images created by 36 Black artists to illustrate - in many cases for the first time - the faces and bodies of artists, healers, colonial and contemporary activists, religious leaders, writers, and many others. Featuring new work by professor Mauricio Acuña (Global Studies Program and Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese).
