Sara Gastón Echeverría is originally from the north of Spain. She obtained her B.A. in English Philology and, after teaching Spanish at the University of New Orleans, she decided to complete a B.A. in Hispanic Studies as well. Afterwards, she moved back to the United States and she earned her M.A. in Linguistics and a Certificate in University Teaching at West Virginia University, where she also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Finally, she continued her professional career teaching Spanish at Loyola University Maryland before her arrival at University of Virginia.

Sara has always loved to study and teach foreign languages and she shows special interest on Second Language Acquisition, Phonology and Sign Languages. Among other things, she enjoys traveling and discovering new parts of the world.
