Pedagogia femminista, lingua e genere: spunti per (per)corsi inclusivi

The Italian Program at UVa cordially invites you to our first event of the semester. Please join us on Tuesday, September 20 at 2 pm (local time) for a roundtable on feminist pedagogy, Italian language and gender with Dr Luca Malici (Durham, UK), Dr Anna Lisa Somma (PhD Birmingham, UK) and Dott.ssa Valentina Elmetti (Istanbul, TR).

Contemporary Mopan Maya: Language, culture, and integration in the developing nation of Belize

Please join the Department of Anthropology in hosting Dr. Pio Saqui (Maya Mopan) of the University of Belize on Friday, June 10, 2022, in the Brooks Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM. Professor Saqui is one of the first members of the Maya Mopan community to earn a PhD and he is a leading scholar in Indigenous ecologies, language revitalization, and cultural heritage.

El Proyecto Multepal de la Universidad de Virginia les invita a una mesa redonda para conmemorar el día del Popol Wuj en Guatemala y hablar sobre el trabajo que se está haciendo con el Popol Wuj. Tres equipos investigadores del Proyecto Multepal, basados en Guatemala, México y Estados Unidos, con profesores e investigadores K'iche', Q'eqchi', Tz'utujil y Yucatecos, comparten sus proyectos de investigación y recursos para la enseñanza del Popol Wuj. Bienvenidos.

The Graduation Ceremony for the Department of Spanish, Italian & Portuguese will follow the Lawn Ceremony on Saturday, May 21 at 2:30 p.m. The ceremony will be in the Culbreth Theatre (Drama Building), located at 109 Culbreth Road. (This is also the inclement weather location.)
