Graduate Student Lecture Series and Welcome-Back Reception

In this annual event, graduate students from the Spanish program will present their original research to the department, followed by a welcome-back reception to kick off the spring semester. All are welcome.

  • Caroline Whitcomb will present "Miracles in the Desert: Cabeza de Vaca and the American Landscape," exploring Naufragios.
  • Alison Posey will present "Cervantine Self-Fashioning in Fernando Aramburu's Patria," specifically focusing on the character of Miren.
  • Savannah Aigner will present "El tema de la violencia en la literatura colombiana," and in particular, Evelio Romero's novel Los ejércitos.
